  • 2 in 1 model – decide whether to make the infantry support version with a 10.5 cm howitzer type barrel or the 75 mm barrel anti-tank version.
  • The Stug – in all its variants was produced in large numbers, 10,000 in all and eclipsed only by the Sd.Kfz 251.
  • Its shape made it ideal for close infantry support – one of its design requirements was it was to have the same maximum height as the average soldier. This low profile also made it very easy to dig in to entrenched positions and was a hard target to hit.
