The Class A3 locomotives were built in the late 1920's and were designed for high speed passenger services from London to Edinburgh on the east coast main line. These locomotives featured longer valves and modified weight distribution to improve reliability and service. The tenders were fitted with a corridor to allow the driver and firemen to swap with others while the train was travelling to reduce stopping time.

These models are a great replica to one of the flagship locomotives on the LNER and include lots of features such as a 14 wheel pick up and a tungsten chassis. They also include a super creep motor for enhanced slow running and a tender drive system which transfers power from the driving wheels to the motor installed in the tender.

MODEL

These great little models feature lots of details including external pipe work, directional lighting, and finely printed external logos and numbering. This locomotive is in "as preserved" livery.
